And maybe I just need a change
Necklace - antique, dress - Plenty by Tracy Reese from Anthropologie, cuff - gift purchased in Saudi Arabia, shoes - Madewell
Today is oddly bittersweet. My brother graduated from high school today, which has had close to no impact on me other than that it’s been making me think about the past year since I’ve been out of high school. I graduated. I spent a summer frolicking in the sun and doing whatever before I flew off to London. And then I lived there for four months, then I returned. I started my American undergraduate education in suburban Philadelphia, and I finished my first year of university. I went to - and fell in love with - Los Angeles and discussed plans to move there by next summer.
I’ve done a lot - it’s been quite a year. But I feel like I’m in the same position I was in on this day in 2011. Only without hometown “friends” I spent time with in years past, and without the excitement of going to a foreign country, obviously. I just want to be somewhere else, several thousand miles west or east.
On another note, I haven't been up to all that much lately. I've been working quite a bit and not doing much else. My summer has been very lazy so far. I'm hoping to go to the beach sometime in the next week or two, but I don't know the likelihood of that actually happening...
Well, until later.

I was just at the beach today - you need to get there! It's quite a nice break from normal daily activities. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you shouldn't feel like you're in the same position as you were a year ago - a year can change so much and you probably just don't realize what's made the difference.
you look lovely, lady! i want your shoes.
xx
I've had a very lazy summer too. Sometimes you do just need a bit of a change. I feel like small changes can quell that desire to do something drastic though. Changing my hair up always helps me.
ReplyDeleteAlso I really love that dress. The print is so summery and it looks great on you.
We think that this is perfect summer dress for all time: short, with beautiful prints, that's why you can combine it with many other items! Perfect!
