Back to school vibes

Kept it simple for a walk to the park with my beloved, (somewhat) patient dog, Sadie. This is probably one of my favorite sets of photos posted on Silhouette Girl. I tend to find broken, rusty things aesthetically pleasing, especially in photographs. I used to spend nearly every evening here as a child... now the graffiti has expanded past the wall and onto the playground. It's not very often I actually see people here, unless it's young teenagers walking to the wall to spray paint. I'm not saying that "graffiti" is all bad, but when it's out of suburban teenage angst it's a little annoying. I tend to prefer the more artistic approach, but then again, I'm a sucker for bright colors.

The location of these photos reminds me of Tumblr tag "back to school vibes," as used by Tavi. And then I remember I won't be in this area for back to school vibes. Bittersweet, bittersweet.

I think it's time for a haircut. It's become slightly unruly, and I'm far too lazy to do anything to my hair, especially during summer. I'm low maintenance, for the most part.

I'll probably switch these shoes when I go out for dinner... whenever that will be! I'm rambling.

Also, I discovered the hilarious website Found Footage Festival, and I suppose all of my friends have too since I've posted it on an obscene amount of Facebook walls. I'd particularly like to recommend "I'm A Spoon" to all you fashion lovers. Seriously, watch it. I'm normally not one to eradicate boredom with funny viral videos, but apparently I have a penchant for cheesy 80's/90's informational videos.

  1. I'm loving this set of photos too! Did you just set up a tripod to take them? And I love that dress--well your shoes too, and while I'm at it, I guess I love you as well. ;) The color goes so well with the wooden bleachers! And I think your hair looks great at that length! But I just chopped off some of mine too. It's like chin-length now. One day I'll have the guts to go super short...one day!

I feel the same way about graffiti. Artistic/purposeful graffiti is so inspiring! But sometimes angst-y ones can be too I guess. Haha.

And I'm headin to check that I'm a Spoon thing right now. :]

once again, love this photo set!

  3. How have I not been following your blog all this time? That has been immediately remedied!

I really love the sweet, girly dress paired against the run-down bleachers. These photos are all so nice!

  5. Oh, wow! Your hair grew really fast! I always used to think we kind of had the same length, but mine barely grows! I mean, it grows but sideways bahahahahahaha. Ok, back to business. I love that bench! We don't have any of those back here... they're all weird looking with things on top that "cover" you from the sun (LIEEE), but yeah. I am rambling! I really do love those sandals!
