On Friday

Silhouette Girl style fashion blog Philadelphia
Cardigan - sister's, necklace - thrifted, tunic - Plenty by Tracy Reese (via my sister's closet), skirt underneath - Lulu's via Beso.com, cuff - antique, shoes - DIY

I have to admit, I was rather proud of myself for putting this outfit together in just a few minutes. I wanted to wear these shoes, so I looked through my closet to no avail, then scoured my sister's recently refilled closet and came across this tunic/too-short dress. Solution? Wear a skirt underneath! I guess it detracts from the casual beachy vibe of the tunic, but it's wearable and dare I say, personalized.

And then there's these shoes, formerly clunky 90's platforms, transformed into a pair of Miu Miu knockoffs. Hurrah. My peers stared in either amazement or disgust. Hurrah, high school.

In the middle of this little photo shoot, I received some unfortunate news. I'm trying to stay optimistic about it. Because, you know, I have no other option.

At least it's the weekend! School is over so soon, it's weird. Anyway, I hope you are well!

  2. your clothes are always so unique and cool. i never would've guessed the skirt was separate from the dress. and i always love seeing how you wear your miu miu knockoffs. they are so awesome and look so much like the real thing. i've always wanted to try the socks/shoes look but i haven't found a way to master it like you have! and silly people who scoff at your shoes. you should come to seattle, people like you are like.. idolized as the artsy hipsters. they're the "cool" kids at my school. it's kind of unusual actually.

and i hope everything is ok. if the bad news is what i think it is, i bet the future has even better things in store for you. maybe there's just a surprise awaiting instead of your semester trip? i'll keep you in my prayers. have no fear!

  3. That's such a smart idea, layering a skirt under a short dress. This outfit is one of my favorites, I think it looks creative and eclectic but still really put together!

  4. oh God this is so awesome! I initially thought it was a dress until I read about the skirt, but still... it looks incredible! It has such a nice pattern and I love the statement the shoes make with the outfit! Who cares about the high school stares because you'll be going to college soon! Hooray! :)

  5. Those are one fantastic pair of knockoffs. Maybe I should invest in some platforms, slather some black paint, and draw some birds with white ink. Thank you for the inspiration.

Ah, high school. When I wear tights, my friends ask me why I'm always so dressed up...
