I always love Lula editorials, if only for the magical photography. I used to love Ali Michael back when she was a Teen Vogue regular (and when Teen Vogue was my main fashion magazine), so I'm glad to see her in this!

PS I leave for London in a little over a month, and I'm nervous but incredibly excited. In addition to obvious preparations such as packing, I've been thinking about how I can incorporate the city into Silhouette Girl. I hope to start a street style segment. Of course, I'll be busy with classes, but either location I'd stay in, from what I understand, is a great area for this type of thing.

Unfortunately, I don't have an outfit post today. I was debating taking photos until I spilled iced tea in a bizarre manner. Seriously, count on me to be a klutz when you wouldn't even think it's possible.

I wish I could pull of blonde hair of any shade. In other news, my schedule is all sorted out - and I won't have to go into high school on Tuesdays/Thursdays until 10:30am. I feel like a winner. Also, I finally took my permit test yesterday and I passed. Went "driving" in a too-small parking lot today, and I felt like it was a scene out of That 70's Show... except I'm not Eric nor is it presently any time in the 20th century.

PS I scanned these, but discovered there's a free digital edition available here.

PPS I want your feedback - which types of posts do you prefer? Outfits? DIY? Inspiration? Let me know!

Lula issue ten magazine drapey Meadham Kirchhoff Chloe Alexander McQueen

via Lula issue 10

I picked up Lula this past weekend with basically my last $20. So expensive, but it's pretty much like a book... pretty pages and interesting words and devoid of articles and advertisements that assume I think I'm fat.

Perfect.

And this draping? Ah, so lovely. I love that it's bad ass, yet pulled together (literally). Not trying too hard, but just the right amount.

Perfect.

It's a little chilly (comparatively) so I wore jeans today, thus no outfit photo. And I'm actually partaking in after-school activities - I went out for the play festival that my school has. So far, so good!

It seems that this May will be hectic and stressful, which is a shame because it's my favorite month. A myriad of AP exams in the beginning (including Stat and Spanish on the same day - oh my) and various projects. Hopefully I'll have enough time to enjoy the sun and nice weather I'm wishing for.

PS My Moschino skirt has shipped and I can't wait.

I love denim and I love seeing it played up, especially in pretty country settings with perfect lighting.

I love the Lanvin dress in the third photo, and the setting of this editorial is so cool. I love unconventional spots - not saying it's never been done before, but it's a bit of a contrast from the lovely designer clothing.

I've been itching to watch True Blood season 2 for so long... I don't actually have HBO which presents a barrier from watching it regularly, but I catch it when I can.

I just love Sookie and Bill in the show - and Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer in real life. She's so cute, and he's just plain sexy.

PS I seem to have taken a break from blogging - my week has been very nice but not centered around my computer. I have only scheduled posts once or twice, so it's not very like me to do that... stay tuned for a few photos from my trip to NYC and other miscellaneous spring break activities.

Just getting it out there:

I really want to try to batik or dye using some other resist technique. I want patterns in my life, but I'm ultra picky with them, so I suppose I could trust myself...

I may try to beg someone to take me to a Goodwill store sometime tomorrow. Everything's half off, and I'm sure I could find money somewhere (I have $2 in my wallet, I need a job!!).

Oh, and I went on a slight adventure today. Spontaneously went to a barbeque somewhere, then walked to a technically off-limits overgrown field. I must go back there and take photos. Truthfully, I would have enjoyed myself much more if I was comfortable - comfy shoes and not wishing I brought my camera (I'm still very afraid of taking it anywhere), but still, I got out so I am quite content.

Happy Memorial day to all! I think I should get some sleep, this is the second night I've stayed up pretty late... I absolutely cannot wait for summer. xox Catherine

But before I leave, Anne Vyalitsyna in the editorial "Here Comes the Sun" in the summer issue of H&M magazine:

Pretty.

all from Elle, Feb 09.

Seems like all of my favorite editorials or ads have similar qualities: soft colors and weather that appears to be nice, not too hot nor too cold.

I have no idea why the February issue of Elle came today when it was sold back in January, but I can't complain, I love magazines.

Well, what have I been up to?! Saturday I went to that concert, and it was so worth the $24 I spent in all. I had a fun time although perhaps I would have done things a little bit differently (I won't elaborate). I slept late for once in my life Saturday into Sunday and went to Pafa to browse. I enjoyed it, but I'm back to feeling like crap about my artwork. Today felt like a bit too much even though it was actually laid back. We have standardized testing three days this week, which means half days, so I'm half excited. It's a waste of time though!

My birthday is even sooner now (obviously), but I'm even more clueless now about what I want. Ideas always escape my head when I need them, that's always how it works!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
